Is your company looking for support in digitizing operational processes and implementing innovative impulses in the IT sector? As part of the "Call for Innovation", we are offering you our help together with the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation (WRS).
Starting in October 2021, students from the HFT's Department of Information Systems will attend a course, supervised by Dr. Stefan Knauth, Professor of Computer Science, developing concepts and solutions to use their know-how to drive the digitization of internal and external processes in companies. Specifically, the aim is to develop prototypes or expand existing digital processes, test and evaluate them, and demonstrate the economic opportunities. The companies have the opportunity to gather expertise, learn about new tools and technologies, and analyze possibilities for their use.Starting in October 2021, students from the HFT's Department of Information Systems will attend a course, supervised by Dr. Stefan Knauth, Professor of Computer Science, developing concepts and solutions to use their know-how to drive the digitization of internal and external processes in companies. Possible fields of application for your company:
By the end of September, the final projects will be selected by WRS and HFT Stuttgart. A group of students of business informatics will work out individual solutions and proposals in close exchange with the companies until January 2021. The companies are recommended to plan for 2-3 hours per week (meetings including preparation). The presentation of the results will take place at the latest by January 21 at the respective company or at our university.
Business informatics as an independent discipline has emerged from computer science and business administration (BWL). It deals with current practical and scientific issues in computer-supported information processing in business. The focus is on the management of operationally relevant information and processes. This includes in particular the planning, development, introduction and operation of business application systems, but also the use of information technology for innovative business models (e.g. e-business, mobility services).
The "Call for Innovation" takes place within the framework of the M4_LAB project.
M4_LAB stands for "Metropolregion 4.0 – Innovation and transfer from transdisciplinary research for energy-efficient urban development, sustainable business and production in the Stuttgart Metropolitan Region." This transfer project at HFT Stuttgart is funded by the federal-state initiative "Innovative Hochschule ".
Goals of the M4_LAB: The goal of the transfer project is to make much greater use of our university's internationally recognized research strengths in urban development, digitalization, innovation management and technology acceptance, as well as other areas. Ideas, solution approaches and innovations are to be further developed together with partners from industry, local government and civil society.
The focus here is on developing a strategy for a climate-neutral region with sustainable mobility concepts and sustainable industrial production.
