Bachelor's thesis by Raphaela Jahnke in summer semester 2024 | Focus: Furniture
Barefoot in the grass in nature, a moment of peace. The sunbathing lawn brings this cozy feeling into your own living room.
The cover consists of a hand-tufted high-pile carpet, whose shape and structure is reminiscent of a flower meadow. Various textile fibers of different lengths and colors create a 3Dimensional surface. The rug is held in place on the underside with tabs on the frame and fixed by buttons disguised as flowers. It is easy to remove and can also be used as a runner.
The frame itself is made of powder-coated aluminum, is rustproof and can therefore also be used as outdoor furniture.
Depending on the weather and season, the lounger is either garden furniture on which you can relax outside in nature, or a soft, warm seat that brings the feeling of "being in nature" into your own four walls, even on cold and wet days.
