"Through the viewfinder of time: browsing through the history(ies) of photography"
The viewfinder of time opens windows to worlds long gone and allows us to recognize progress and change over the years.
The prepared archive cabinets appear as time capsules that reflect the diversity of photography in its various facets. From the idea of the camera obscura to the high-tech cameras of the 21st century - each drawer tells its own story and presents photographs that capture not only the development of technology, but also social change and artistic work. Interactive and in search of exciting details, visitors browse through snapshots, models, experiments, scenes and constructed statistics.
"Through the viewfinder of time" is not only an exhibition about the historical development of the cultural technique of photography, but also an invitation to immerse yourself in stories captured through the lens of a camera.
The design was supervised by Prof. Thomas Hundt, Prof. Philipp Reinfeld and Bärbel Bilger
