Design 2 | Micha Essinger, Tobias Friedmann, Timo Kemmner, Prisca Schulz & Hannah Weiss | 2nd semester | summer semester 2021
Accompanying the design studio "Kunstrefugium am Walchensee", remarkable studio spaces were analysed as references in a preliminary exercise at the beginning of the semester. In order to understand these existing spaces better, they were recreated in a model. How do light, material and surfaces interact to create an overall spatial effect, mood and atmosphere? The architectural space is perceived holistically as the sum of all relationships between the space-defining elements and their properties. The interior models on a scale of 1:25 represent not only the materialisation but also the furnishing. The aim of the exercise was to reproduce an atmospheric model photograph of the interior. Model making is thereby trained as a form of representation for one's own design work and established as a tool of the trade in the studio.
The work was supervised by Ludwig Zitzelsberger.
