The competition, organised by the Deutschen Institut für Stadtbaukunst (German Institute of Urban Design) at TU Dortmund and wa wettbewerbe aktuell, was aimed at students of all design and urban planning departments at German-speaking universities who had written a supervised term paper or thesis in the summer semester of 2021 or winter semester of 2021/22.
With her work "Municipal House for Art and Culture" in Forststraße in Stuttgart-Vogelsang, Vanessa Denk was among the best 10 works out of 59 submissions. Among these, three works received a prize, two received recognition and five were shortlisted. The project work is a result of the course Design 2, supervised by Professor Jonathan Scheder in the 2nd semester.
