This year's prize of the advisory board of the Master's programme International Project Management was awarded to Mr Matthias Kromer for his outstanding Master's thesis "Project Alliancing for German Rail Infrastructure: Acceptance Criteria for Owner and Funding Agency" during the 45th advisory board meeting.
The thesis of Mr Kromer deals with the integrated project management in the form of a project alliance for railway infrastructure projects in Germany. The internationally proven procedure for the realisation of complex construction projects is currently not applied in Germany due to reservations of the client and the funding body. Based on international experiences and pilot projects in Central Europe, a catalogue of criteria with detailed prerequisites and measures was developed within the scope of the final thesis in order to address reservations against this procedure and thus enable a successful application in railway projects in Germany. Furthermore, the catalogue of criteria was applied to a planned pilot project and recommendations for action for a successful implementation were developed.
The award of the advisory board was financed by Albrings + Müller AG from Stuttgart.
