Over 1500 participants from 45 countries applied for the 12th edition of the Green Product Award. The best submissions were nominated after being assessed in terms of design, innovation and sustainability. the Dächle is one of the Green Concept Award finalists in the building design category.

The Dächle is a covered bench system and creates a place for social interaction at the interface between the university and urban society. The system consists of recyclable materials. A lightweight roof structure rests on four pillars, which also serve as benches, allowing students, guests and passers-by to stay protected from the rain and sun. The Dächle is the built result of a design-build workshop that represents experiential-based learning through social processes and the use of bio-, geo- and re-use-based materials.
