Environmental protection has a high priority at our university. Since October 2014, HFT Stuttgart has been certified according to the European environmental management system EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). The university thus sets itself the goal of continuously and systematically improving its own environmental management.
In order to continue the EMAS registration, the environmental management system is put to the test annually by an external audit. This year's regular monitoring was the revalidation that takes place every 3 years. On June 12 and 15, 2023, external environmental auditors were at HFT Stuttgart to review data, documented regulations and other documents. In addition, they convinced themselves of the effectiveness of the environmental management system in numerous discussions with the university management, employees from various departments and with students. In their audit report, the auditors certified the continuous improvement of the HFT's environmental performance and signed our current environmental statement(download PDF). Now the confirmation also came from the certification body in the form of the new certificates for the extension of the registration in the EMAS register until 2026. Thus, the HFT Stuttgart is still entitled to use the EMAS logo.
