Under the motto "JetztKlimachen" (Make climate change now), the major Stuttgart climate protection campaign was launched on 15 March, which aims to make climate protection the talk of the town and builds on a broad network of Stuttgart companies, institutions and associations. HFT Stuttgart is also part of the campaign.
The campaign focuses on the community idea and actively involves the city's society. It shows how much is already happening in the city, how diverse climate protection can be and how citizens can become active themselves.
To kick off the event, climate protection will literally become the talk of the town: large building banners in the cityscape will trigger a climate challenge that will unfold along the nomination mechanics familiar from social media in analog and digital ways across the entire city. Participants show how they are committed to the climate and nominate others to do the same.
The state capital of Stuttgart has made a start. Throughout the city, it will now be possible to observe how various players from science, business, culture, sports, gastronomy and retail take up the nomination and pass it on. At the same time, the campaign will spill over into the digital space, where all Stuttgart residents can join the movement and challenge others to do the same with a climate protection nomination.
We are looking forward to being part of the Stuttgart climate protection campaign together with many other actors.
By the way: after the campaign is over, the banner above the main entrance will not simply be thrown away, but will be made into fancy bags by the Stuttgarter Lederschmiede (a Caritas enterprise).
