The project HFT goes green enters the next round

Mark your calendars now!

Last semester alone, 36 students got involved in 9 interdisciplinary project groups for a sustainable, green and climate-neutral campus. HFT goes green is recognized in many degree programs as an elective/special elective, integrated/interdisciplinary project or key qualification. Registration is possible from 14 March, starting on 06.04.2022 with a kick-off workshop.

Campus furniture

In the previous semesters, students had already dealt with the topic of campus greening and the construction of campus furniture. The results were taken up again by a group and further developed. The result was a flexible campus furniture system in which stacked wooden boxes become seating landscapes, tables, stools or benches. The boxes also contain space for tubs with bee-friendly plants. Together with another project group, a suitable module was developed as a charging station for Pedelac batteries.

Social sustainability

In the "Social Sustainability" project, students actively implemented an alternative idea despite the challenges and restrictions due to the pandemic situation. The group put a smile on the faces of some residents of the Hans Sachs House in Stuttgart at Christmas. They collected used books, packed them and brought them there in time for Christmas. With this good deed, they were able to bring great joy to the residents and at the same time give the used books a new home.

Sustainability communication

As part of the project "Sustainability Communication", the Instagram account @hft_goes_green was created. Here, current HFT-goes-green projects are presented, everyday tips for a green lifestyle are shared, and facts and news about sustainability are presented. The channel recently celebrated its premiere - it's worth subscribing!
