Laboratory for Geodetic Data Processing

The laboratory for geodetic data processing serves the development, application and testing of geodetic program systems.

The laboratory has two rooms. The first room is available especially for guided exercises and the processing of student research projects. There are 20 computers available for this purpose, on which the following software programs are installed, among others:

• Visual Studio (Visual Basic .NET, Visual C++)
• Eclipse for Java and Python
• GIS (ArcGIS 10.x, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS)
• Geodetic application programs (Leica Infinity, Trimble Business Center, Trimble Real Works, Z+F LaserControl)
• adjustment software (JAG3D)
• CAD programs (GEOgraf, AutoCAD)
• Office and database applications (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Project, MS-Access, MySQL)

Virtualization makes it easy to switch between English and German operating systems and the corresponding language versions of the software packages, supported by correspondingly double-assigned keyboards. To further support the work, a series of field computers as well as DIN A3 scanners, printers and plotters are available

The second room is used for the production of final theses in the above mentioned application areas and is available for the development of internet applications. There are a total of 5 workstations, which can be individually equipped as required.
