The Master's Software Technology programme at Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences impresses in the latest CHE ranking. All results from the student survey for the period April 2024 to July 2024 were assigned to the top range. The mean values of the evaluation categories are almost consistently slightly above those of comparable computer science degree programmes and underline the high quality of the programme.
Top ratings in key categories
The transition between Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes as well as the organisation of studies received top ratings of 4.6 out of 5 stars. Furthermore, the general study situation, the support provided by lecturers and the practical orientation of teaching scored very well. The use of digital teaching elements, support during the degree programme in general and for stays abroad also received very good ratings. Incidentally, the computer science programme at HFT Stuttgart already received a top rating for the bachelor's computer science programme in spring.
Improvements compared to the last survey
Compared to the previous survey from 2021, the support provided during the degree programme and the support provided by lecturers were improved once again. The transition between the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes was also rated better.
Students highlight practical orientation and support
In their comments, students emphasised the high practical orientation of the degree programme, the inclusion of current trends from the software industry and the comprehensive range of hybrid teaching formats. They particularly emphasised the exceptional support provided by lecturers, which went above and beyond the usual level.
With a response rate of 58.1 per cent, the survey provides a sound basis for the evaluation and confirms the Master's degree programme in Software Technology as a first-class choice for prospective software developers.
